Position Overview

The Team Supervisor is responsible for leading, managing, and supporting the Guest Engagement Associate team to achieve organizational goals. This role ensures the team operates efficiently, meets performance targets, and maintains high morale. The supervisor acts as a liaison between team members and upper management, offering guidance, resolving issues, and fostering a positive work environment.

The Team Supervisor may be assigned additional duties as needed to support program goals and agency operations. This includes collaborating with other departments and taking direction from other supervisors or managers as appropriate.

Expected Hours and Place of Work: The incumbent works full-time, onsite at the Watt Ave. Safe Stay Community Shelter. The role will be scheduled to oversee one of the following shifts:

• Day Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm, 5 days each week.
• Swing Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm, 5 days each week.
• Overnight Shift: 11:00pm-7:30am, 5 days each week

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Team Leadership and Management

• • Supervise, mentor, and motivate team members to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and performance standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Performance Monitoring

• Track individual and team performance metrics.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Address underperformance and implement improvement plans as needed.

Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for team-related issues and updates.
• Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss goals, progress, and challenges.
• Ensure clear communication of organizational objectives and changes.

Problem-Solving

• Identify and resolve team or operational issues promptly.
• Support team members in overcoming challenges.
• Escalate critical issues to higher management when necessary.

Training and Development

• Provide onboarding and ongoing training for team members.
• Identify skill gaps and organize professional development opportunities.
• Encourage team members to take ownership of their roles.

Operational Oversight

• Ensure tasks and projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Manage workload distribution to ensure efficiency.
• Monitor adherence to company policies, processes, and standards.

Compliance and Goal-Meeting

• Consistently meet all assigned productivity and outcome goals.
• In all activities, comply with all contracts, funder requirements, and City Net procedures and policies.
• Meet or exceed all goals and requirements established for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience cultivating and maintaining productive, professional relationships with various stakeholders.
• Proven success with cultivating and maintaining productive professional relationships with clients, partner agencies and co-workers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent professional boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills.
• Flexible and adaptable in response to changing client and health care providers’ needs
• Experience working with underserved and marginalized populations
• May be required to drive a company vehicle to transport clients. For insurance purposes, drivers of company vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and must pass a Motor Vehicle Report.

Physical and Mental Health Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout office and organizational locations for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and other technology systems for prolonged periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, regulations, reports, and employee-related documentation.
• Ability to maintain concentration, prioritize competing responsibilities, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees, supervisors, leadership, vendors, and external agencies.
• Ability to conduct meetings, trainings, coaching conversations, and employee relations discussions in a professional and respectful manner.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and organizational matters.
• Ability to effectively respond to stressful, emotionally sensitive, or high-pressure situations involving employee concerns, workplace conflict, or compliance matters.
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities and maintain professionalism under deadlines and frequent interruptions.

Working Environment

• Work is primarily performed in an office and administrative environment with frequent use of computers and digital communication systems.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees, leadership, external vendors, benefit providers, and government agencies.

• Work environment may involve handling confidential, sensitive, or emotionally charged employee relations matters.
• Position may occasionally require evening or weekend work to support organizational needs, trainings, investigations, or special projects.
• Fast-paced work environment with competing priorities, deadlines, and frequent interruptions.
• Requires strict adherence to confidentiality standards, organizational policies, and applicable employment laws and regulations.

Organizational Overview

City Net is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization that facilitates and leads multi-sector collaboratives to provide solutions to complex social problems, including ending homelessness in Orange County. City Net’s direct services in homelessness include street outreach, case management, shelter operations, facilitation of collaborative meetings, resource mobilization, trainings, and community organizing.
