Hagerstown, MD | Level 2 Trauma Center – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:00

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced 54-bed Emergency Room averaging approximately 220 patients per day
• Manage and prioritize care for a diverse range of emergency and trauma patients within a Level 2 Trauma Center
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for documentation and care coordination
• Float to other units in rotation with staff, in accordance with facility floating policies and Joint Commission standards, with appropriate orientation provided
• Participate in required orientation modules and annual competency modules completed through the Relias/Net Learning portal (non-billable, averaging 4–8 hours)
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends, including up to six weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period and up to three Sundays per scheduling period for night shift

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale (NIH pending certification may be substituted)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
• 2-Step PPD and Flu Vaccine required — no exemptions accepted
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume, Level 2 or Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting
• Familiarity with Relias or Net Learning online education platforms
