The Opportunity The Analyst will work in the alternative investment management industry at a high-quality, growing firm and will gain exposure to private real assets. The Analyst will support the real assets team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of investments. Apogem’s dedicated private real assets team has raised and deployed three funds, representing over $1 billion of capital, since launching in late 2014. The team is actively investing out of its fourth fund and is based in Austin, Texas, a market at the center of the convergence of energy and technology. The strategy is highly opportunistic and value-oriented, with a focus on direct equity co-investments as well as selective secondary opportunities. It seeks to provide sector diversification through investments in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and related services. The mandate seeks to generate high absolute returns, targeting a 2.0x MOIC and 20% IRR, along with significant yield. The Analyst will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of equity and credit investment professionals and members of Apogem Capital’s Senior Leadership Team. Key Areas of Responsibility Sourcing and investment screening Review industry news daily and enter new investments into proprietary database Own database management, including generation of team’s pipeline and forward calendar Perform industry and strategy market mapping Attend prospective manager meetings and calls. Generate meeting notes and quick screen evaluations Present investment evaluation findings in weekly team meetings Attend industry conferences Diligence support Support deal team in assessment of investment opportunities Support senior investment professionals in diligence documentation Attend investment committee meetings and own documentation of commitments and approvals Opportunity to increasingly lead aspects of investment diligence including creation/drafting of investment memos, quantitative analysis, etc. Performance reporting and portfolio monitoring Complete post-closing documentation for new investments Monitor investments on a regular basis, capturing relevant data Track capital call and distribution activity and forecasts Monitor investment performance and track AGM and LPAC participation Marketing and client service support Support marketing and other various requests from existing and prospective investors Support client service in development of existing and prospective investor communications Organization Support special project work as needed Collaborate with other Apogem investment teams to develop best practices, share diligence findings, etc. Integrate AI into workflows Pay Transparency Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 Overtime eligible: Exempt Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes Sales bonus eligible: No Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
