About the Role
The Company is in search of a Managing Director of Capital Formation to spearhead its fundraising and investor engagement activities. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing the firm's capital raising strategy, nurturing institutional relationships, and driving growth across various investment vehicles. This senior, externally facing role demands a professional with a robust network of institutional investors and a proven track record in raising capital within real estate strategies. Key responsibilities include all aspects of capital formation, from strategy to execution, as well as overseeing investor communications and representing the firm at industry events. The role also involves close collaboration with senior leadership and other teams to effectively articulate the firm's investment strategy and performance. Applicants for the Managing Director of Capital Formation position at the company should possess a minimum of 10-15 years' of experience in capital formation, investor relations, or distribution within real estate private equity or alternative asset management. A strong background in raising significant institutional capital, particularly with a multi-billion aggregate, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a deep existing network of LP relationships, particularly across North America, and a strong understanding of various real estate investment strategies. Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills are a must, as is the ability to operate at a senior leadership level and influence firm strategy. The role also requires the ability to build and mentor a team, so leadership and team management experience are highly valued.
