The city seeks its next city manager. New Albany encompasses more than seventeen square miles across northeastern Franklin County and western Licking County in Central Ohio. Located just ten miles from John Glenn International Airport and fifteen miles from downtown Columbus – Ohio’s capital city and the nation’s 14th largest metro area – the community offers exceptional connectivity for residents and businesses alike. The City operates under a Council‑Manager form of government, where the city manager is the City’s chief executive officer reporting to a seven‑member City Council. The city manager appoints and removes the director of law and the director of finance, subject to the consent and approval of the City Council. All other department heads are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the city manager. Departments include Community Development, Public Service, Police, Administration, Strategic Initiatives, and Finance. Responsibilities The city manager is the City’s chief executive officer reporting to the City Council. The role includes appointment and removal of senior department directors, oversight of city departments, strategic planning, budget development, and ensuring the efficient operation of city services. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary range is $179,499–224,374 depending on qualifications and experience.
