Western Brooklyn Primary Care is seeking a dedicated Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center located in Houston, Texas. Work Environment

The role is situated at our Surgical Center, a facility equipped with cutting-edge medical technology and a collaborative team of healthcare professionals dedicated to orthopaedics. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, without weekend shifts, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practitioner care to orthopaedic patients under the supervision of a specialty physician, delivering comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, procedural, and preventative care.
• Examine and assess patients to diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and perform necessary evaluations, including interpreting radiology reports and laboratory results.
• Conduct detailed patient histories and physical examinations, write prescriptions, and order appropriate therapies.
• Assist in surgical procedures alongside attending orthopaedic surgeons, learning specific techniques to ensure patient safety and efficacy in treatments.
• Manage patient cases throughout the orthopaedic care continuum, including inpatient service, consultations, pre-procedure evaluations, procedural interventions, and post-operative follow-ups in both hospital and outpatient settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population consists of individuals ranging from adolescent athletes to older adults experiencing degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. As an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant, you will work closely with a diverse patient demographic, emphasizing personalized care tailored to each patient's unique needs and conditions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, with preferred educational attainment of a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A valid Texas state license as a Physician Assistant and national certification as a Physician Assistant are mandatory.
• DEA Certificate to be obtained within three months of hire.
• At least one year of recent clinical experience in orthopaedic specialty care, ideally within a surgical setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with managing urgent referrals from the community and familiarity with wound care protocols.
• Proven ability to assist in surgical operations directly under the supervision of an attending orthopaedic surgeon.
• A background in handling a variety of orthopaedic procedures and patient management strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range from USD 120,000 to 160,000, commensurate with experience, along with additional performance-based bonuses. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
