Job Title: Payroll Supervisor

Location: Greater Nashville Area (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Compensation: 80,000 - 85,000/year depending on experience

Benefits: This position is eligible for health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Position Summary

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day payroll administration for a multi-state workforce. This role ensures payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced managing payroll processes in a high-volume setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise and process payroll activities for employees located across multiple states.
• Maintain payroll systems and procedures to ensure accurate processing of wages, deductions, taxes, benefits, and related adjustments.
• Partner with HR and leadership teams regarding employee onboarding, status changes, compensation updates, and separations.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation while maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and labor laws.
• Support audits and reporting requests by providing payroll records and documentation as needed.
• Recommend and implement payroll process improvements and system enhancements.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with additional administrative or accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing multi-state payroll operations required.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and reporting procedures.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and HR/payroll software platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
