More about our team The LBS Payroll team operates at the center of a rapidly evolving, enterprise-wide function supporting a growing healthcare organization. With a recent transition to Oracle and several high-impact initiatives underway, this team plays a critical role in driving transformation, improving processes, and shaping the future of payroll operations. - Lead enterprise-wide payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing across multiple payroll cycles (including outsourced/managed service components)
- Oversee day-to-day payroll processing, including SLA adherence, issue resolution, and ticket management workflows
- Drive optimization and continuous improvement of payroll processes following recent Oracle system implementation
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, People Services, and external vendors to support payroll-related initiatives and process alignment
- Lead key payroll transformation initiatives, including transitioning select processes (e.g., year-end/W-2 activities) from outsourced to in-house
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as internal policies and audit requirements
- Support and influence payroll-related policy development, governance, and enterprise-wide standardization efforts
- Provide leadership and direction to payroll management staff, including coaching, performance management, and team development
- Collaborate on enterprise initiatives such as provider pay process improvements and system enhancements
- Monitor payroll operations performance, identify gaps, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external payroll service providers
- 9+ years of progressive payroll experience in a complex, multi-state environment
- 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing managers or large teams
- Deep knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and multi-state payroll practices
- Experience leading or supporting payroll system implementations, integrations, or transformations
- Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to manage both day-to-day execution and process improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across Finance, HR, and operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to leadership
- Experience with Oracle payroll systems or similar enterprise platforms
- Background in healthcare or similarly complex, regulated environments (not required)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
- Experience bringing outsourced payroll functions in-house or optimizing shared services models
