Unit: 2 North

Number of Beds: 23

Number of Staff: 37

Staffing Breakdown:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 Nurses, 2 Techs, 1 Unit Secretary
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 Nurses, 2 Techs

Patient Ratios:

• 1:6 for Nurses
• 1:10-15 for Techs

• IV Pumps
• Sequential Pumps
• Vein Finder
• Bladder Scanner
• EKG Machine
• Vital Signs Monitors (Integrated)
• Computers on Wheels
• Sera Steady
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) - Expanse

Typical Hiring Profile

Required Skills

• Proficiency with Expanse and patient admissions/discharges

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience with Expanse
• Able to perform lab draws
• Minimum of one year of acute care experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Stepdown unit

Typical Procedures

• Lab draws
• IV insertions
• Foley insertions
• Administer IV fluids and medications (e.g., antibiotics)
• Prepare patients for surgical and non-surgical procedures
• Communication with physicians

Unit Guidelines/Policies

• Attendance at daily huddles at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM
• Bedside shift report
• Completion of required daily charting
• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
