About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a focus on reinsurance to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support in outwards reinsurance placements, partnering with the Ceded Reinsurance team from deal inception to execution. This role requires deep technical expertise in structuring, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing reinsurance agreements, as well as the ability to manage complex reinsurance-related transactions, including captive programs and insurance-linked securities. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in building and maintaining strong relationships with reinsurers and brokers, managing reinsurance disputes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' of relevant legal experience, with a substantial focus on reinsurance transactional work, and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. The role demands a candidate with a strong working knowledge of US reinsurance law, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Experience in offshore collateralized structures, UK/London market practices, and exposure to fronting arrangements is preferred. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have strong project management skills, and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, commercially driven legal environment. A proactive approach to identifying legal risks and the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity are also key requirements for this position.
