Benefits: 401(k) matching Bonus based on performance Health insurance Paid time off The Position We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on General Manager to lead our operation as we develop it into our primary service, manufacturing, inventory, and distribution center. Our Texas facility is growing into the largest operation in our company. We are looking for someone who has experience leading approximately 15–20 employees in a service center, distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing operation, equipment business, or similar hands‑on environment. This is not primarily an administrative position. The General Manager will be the senior on‑site leader responsible for the people, facility, operational standards, and coordination between departments. We need someone who can walk into an operation, understand what's working and what isn't, establish better systems, develop employees and managers, and then hold the team accountable for maintaining those standards. What You’ll Lead The General Manager will have responsibility across four primary areas: People & Leadership You will be responsible for building and leading the Texas team, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, employee development, and day‑to‑day accountability. Department managers will continue to manage their respective functions and employees. The GM will develop those managers, ensure expectations are being enforced, and step in when performance or personnel issues require additional leadership. Corporate payroll, benefits, HR administration, and confidential employee records remain centralized with our administrative team. Facility & Operations You will have overall responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation and condition of the Texas facility. That includes establishing and maintaining standards for organization, cleanliness, safety, workflow, storage, equipment, warehouse areas, service areas, manufacturing areas, and the yard. We are looking for someone who believes that operational problems should have clear ownership and follow-through—not simply become accepted as “the way we’ve always done it.” Inventory & Distribution Texas is becoming PDQuipment’s primary distribution and inventory center. A major initiative for this position will be helping us advance our inventory‑control systems, including implementation of barcode‑based inventory processes . The GM will help establish disciplined processes around receiving, locations, labeling, stocking, picking, transfers, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy. Experience with ERP, WMS, barcode, warehouse‑management, or inventory‑control systems is strongly preferred. Service & Manufacturing Operations Our Texas location also serves as a major equipment service center and is becoming our primary manufacturing location. The GM does not need to be our best mechanic or manufacturing technician. We have technical employees and department leadership for that. The GM does need to understand how to manage an operation: staffing, production, scheduling, priorities, capacity, accountability, workflow, quality standards, and coordination between departments. Multi‑Location Leadership While Texas will be the GM’s primary responsibility, PDQuipment operates additional locations across the United States. The GM will periodically travel to other facilities to help implement operational standards, develop local leadership, improve warehouse and facility processes, and share successful systems developed in Texas. Expected travel: approximately 6 trips annually. What We’re Looking For Strong candidates should have: Previous responsibility for a service center, distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing facility, equipment operation, or similar environment Experience leading approximately 15–20+ employees Direct experience hiring, developing, coaching, and holding employees accountable Experience managing supervisors or department leads Strong warehouse, inventory, or distribution knowledge Experience improving operational processes rather than simply maintaining existing ones Ability to establish standards and consistently follow through Comfort working in an industrial environment and spending significant time throughout the facility—not only in an office Experience with ERP, WMS, inventory‑control, or barcode systems is a strong plus Multi‑location operational experience is a plus Ability to travel periodically to other company locations What Success Looks Like The person we’re looking for should be able to take an operation with significant growth potential and make it increasingly organized, measurable, accountable, and scalable . Success will include stronger managers, clear employee accountability, improved inventory accuracy, organized facilities, reliable operating procedures, better coordination between departments, improved throughput, and fewer problems requiring intervention from executive leadership. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership .
