Senior Operator, Hazardous Waste

Senior Operator position at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility overseeing hazardous waste operations. The role requires an experienced operator capable of managing equipment, coordinating workflows, and serving as a subject matter expert while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate process equipment and instruments in outdoor conditions following all applicable procedures
• Monitor critical parameters, identify deviations, and coordinate removal and testing operations
• Act as backup operations coordinator and support workflow management and process compliance
• Submit work orders, document production status, maintain logs, and escalate unresolved issues
• Support training activities as subject matter expert and promote environmental health and safety initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 to 4 years operational experience preferred
• Forklift and portable hand truck certification
• EPA/RCRA and DOT 49 CFR certifications with respirator certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Knowledge of hazardous, chemical, and biologic material handling and compliance
• Proven leadership and multi-priority management with minimal supervision
