The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments accurately and safely under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Therapy Manager. The therapist performs patient setup, operates radiation therapy equipment, maintains treatment documentation, ensures radiation safety compliance, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary oncology team to provide exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities
Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions.
Verify patient identity, positioning, and treatment parameters.
Operate linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment safely.
Perform patient positioning and immobilization procedures.
Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to patient needs.
Maintain accurate treatment records and electronic documentation.
Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and nursing staff.
Utilize oncology information systems and treatment planning software.
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment procedures and expectations.
Maintain equipment and treatment areas according to departmental standards.
Perform additional departmental duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy (or equivalent).
Current Radiation Therapy Certification (ARRT-T or equivalent) in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles and patient care.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Varian ARIA Oncology Information System.
Experience with Eclipse Treatment Planning System.
Experience with Philips CT Simulation.
Previous Radiation Oncology experience.
Strong understanding of radiation safety regulations.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
