RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking a board‑certified Emergency Medicine Physician to serve as Chair of the Emergency Medicine Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The Chair will lead a multi‑disciplinary team, supervise residents, provide leadership for all clinical activities, and support academic training programs. Responsibilities Oversee all clinical activities in the Emergency Medicine Department. Provide leadership and support for academic actions, including resident education, fellowship programs, and research. Drive improvements in quality and safety, and create policies that advance department goals. Supervise and cover residents, faculty, and APPs as needed. Collaborate with other service lines (Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Radiology, Mobile Health) to improve efficiency, safety, quality and patient experience. Meet high standards of healthcare in accordance with policies adopted by medical staff, hospital administration, and the Board of Trustees. Qualifications Board certification in Emergency Medicine. At least 5 years of academic leadership experience. Strong clinical background and exceptional interpersonal skills. Prior experience in resident education and clinical research. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey. Preferred Qualifications Academic clinical background. Experience in pediatric emergency medicine or related fellowships. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated salary range for this position is $350,000 to $480,000 per year, dependent on educational background, skills, and professional experience.
