About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development to spearhead its fundraising efforts and contribute to the strategic growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong background in fundraising, particularly in the areas of annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns. This role involves leading a comprehensive fundraising program, managing a talented team, and working closely with the senior leadership to achieve the company's artistic, educational, and community goals. The Vice President of Development will be responsible for creating and implementing a robust fundraising strategy, engaging with donors at all levels, and ensuring that all development activities align with the company's mission and values. Applicants for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree or CFRE preferred) and a minimum of 7 years' progressive fundraising leadership experience, ideally in the performing arts or nonprofit sector. The role requires a proven track record in major gifts, corporate sponsorship, and capital campaigns, as well as the ability to manage and inspire teams. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are essential, as is experience with CRM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with high emotional intelligence, capable of working flexible hours and willing to travel as needed. Responsibilities also include educating and engaging the Board of Directors and staff in development activities and representing the company at various events.
