About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President - Business Lending Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to both internal and external business members, with a focus on identifying their financial needs and providing suitable credit union solutions. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the business lending department, ensuring compliance with lending laws, and making sound credit decisions to minimize risk. The VP - Business Lending Officer will also be involved in mentoring and coaching staff, as well as supporting the development of new business loan products and procedures. Applicants must have a strong background in relationship banking, the ability to self-source business, and experience managing a commercial loan portfolio. A key requirement is a strong credit sense, with the ability to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risks. The role also involves staying current with economic conditions and lending regulations, and working with minimal supervision to make independent decisions. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-recognized certifications, and at least 3-5 years of related work experience. Responsibilities include overseeing the business lending team, maintaining effective employee relations, and being actively involved in the collection efforts for business loans.
