Pediatric Optometrist - Patient Care Leader

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Responsible for evaluating and treating pediatric patients within the WashU Children's Eye Center. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Evaluates and treats pediatric patients, including: refractive exams; contact lens fitting and dispensing; emergency exams; evaluation and management of medical diseases of the eye. Assists in Ophthalmologist's clinics alongside Orthoptist. Discusses and interprets findings with patients and suggests appropriate remedies. Adheres to established compliance guidelines to include those governing the appropriate coding of patient services and diagnoses. Adheres to established quality, safety, and hazardous material procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Ophthalmology. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Physical Effort: Typically sitting at a desk or table. Equipment: Office equipment. Skills: Code of Federal Regulations, Detail-Oriented, Independent Judgment, Optometry Grade C20 Salary Range $127,900.00 - $204,500.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
