Accountant Lead

Summary:

\n

As an Investments team member, you’ll play a key role in the innovative investment strategies that enable financial products to serve customers and their families when they need us most – now and in the future.

\n

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Support accurate U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the organization’s Alternative Assets investment portfolio, supporting large scale projects, developing and maintaining robust internal controls framework
\n
• Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for our alternative assets portfolio
\n
• Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes – identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes
\n
• Perform assigned accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entry and financial reporting preparation.
\n
• Partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies
\n
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business results
\n
• Support accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign efforts
\n
• Help maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on-going review and validation of key operational processes
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related discipline
\n
• CPA is preferred
\n
• 2-5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting experience
\n
• Strong oral and written communication skills
\n
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups and communicate complex information clearly
\n
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize appropriately
\n
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
\n
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
\n
• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
\n
