Guthrie Concessions Bartender

Chowgirls at The Guthrie is looking for bartenders to join our creative team! High volume bartending experience preferred, weekends and evenings required.

Our bartenders mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food items in accordance with Chowgirls Catering's policies and standards, manage the bar area, and interact with guests to ensure a positive experience. They are responsible for preparing drinks according to recipes, handling credit card transactions, checking for proper identification before service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. Additionally, our bartenders may manage inventory, and restock supplies. Bartenders are responsible for compliance of all federal, state, and city liquor laws and internal policies. This position reports to the Concessions Manager.

Job Duties

• Prepares premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons in a high-volume setting
• Properly measures wine, spirit, and batch pours and follows cocktail recipes
• Works well in a team and individually
• Provides prompt and courteous service to all guests while maintaining a respectful and positive disposition
• Maintains professional standards of appearance, attendance, and punctuality
• Able to follow instructions given by managers
• Prioritizes tasks, remains focused, and works independently and collaboratively
• Email access and literacy are necessary
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more and able to stand for long period of time
• Access to reliable transportation is required, and a valid driver's license is preferred, but not required
• Maintain positive relationships with our vendor partners and always acts as a positive representative of Chowgirls in contract spaces

Schedule Expectations

• This is a seasonal position with anticipated employment through August 23, 2026
• Flexibility to work long hours, irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• Experience bartending or bar-backing required
• 1 year of bartending experience preferred
• Event bartending experience preferred
• Must be 21 years of age
• Knowledge of a variety of popular cocktails and is familiar with wine and beer basics
• Knows and upholds the most current liquor liability laws
• Receives and executes instructed duties from leadership efficiently and professionally
• Experience handling high-volume beverage sales and preparation
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• A commitment to delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for patrons
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a desire to contribute to the overall success of the beverage program
• Ability to work up to 12 hours on your feet and lift 40 lbs

Communication

• Proactively communicate work and personal schedule through Slack
• Attend and actively participate in all required company meetings
• Respond to internal and external communications within 12 hours
• Present a professional positive attitude among coworkers, vendors, and clients
• Facilitate information flows throughout workplace
• Maintain availability for communication by phone, Slack, and email
