Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This pharmacy technician position offers an engaging opportunity to support prescription processing and medication management within a dynamic healthcare environment. The role is based in Clearwater, FL, with a contract duration of 13 weeks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with a start date available as soon as possible or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and fill prescriptions accurately while managing insurance claims and resolving adjudication rejections.
- Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
- Perform data entry tasks, manage prescription paperwork, and maintain clear communication with patients and prescribers.
- Conduct daily inventory cycle counts, restock supplies, and review medication expiration dates.
- Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and proper destruction procedures.
- Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to provide comprehensive departmental support.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current PTCB certification and active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, with call center experience considered a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
