Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Part Time in Granite City, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. - Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and appropriate emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards.
- Monitor high-traffic areas and support loss prevention awareness by observing customer and store activity, reporting suspicious behavior, and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive conduct.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, remain visible throughout assigned areas, and communicate with store representatives and/or public responders regarding security-related matters as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
