This role will partner with employees and leadership across the site to implement effective EHS programs, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.Location Alameda, CA – OnsiteIn this role, you will:Lead EHS programs for our Alameda site using a Lean, pillar-based approach that connects daily management, team engagement, and continuous improvement to broader network safety and environmental goals.Build a strong safety culture through behavior-based safety practices that help team members recognize risks, reinforce safe behaviors, and feel empowered to work safely every day.Create and maintain EHS and industrial hygiene pillar standards, routines, and programs that meet OSHA requirements, applicable regulations, and company expectations.Develop practical training and communication that help employees understand safe work practices, environmental expectations, and continuous improvement opportunities.Partner with regulatory agencies and internal teams during audits, inspections, RCAs, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.Identify and lead risk-reduction projects using Lean tools, structured audits, and root-cause thinking to make work safer, simplify processes, and reduce operational exposure.Lead strategic EHS initiatives by strengthening pillar governance, aligning stakeholders, managing change, and connecting daily execution to long-term improvement.Improve systems and processes that reduce incidents, environmental impact, and related business costs.Set meaningful EHS goals, track progress, and use data to help teams understand performance and focus on the right priorities.Analyze safety processes, lead RCAs, identify systemic gaps, and implement practical countermeasures that support recognition, engagement, and stronger EHS outcomes.Celebrate progress, share learnings from audits, observations, and RCAs, and help employees build the knowledge and habits that prevent injuries and protect the environment.Maintain emergency response plans and support effective response to safety, environmental, and employee-related emergencies.You will help teams succeed by:Creating a culture of trust, wellbeing, and inclusion where employees feel valued and supported.Setting clear goals, coaching regularly, and helping team members grow while staying accountable for results.Welcoming diverse perspectives and using lessons from both successes and setbacks to improve how the team works.Building an environment where people are heard, motivated, and aligned on expectations.What will help you succeed:Ownership and initiative: You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable using Lean thinking, RCAs, and practical problem-solving to keep safety and people at the center.Collaboration and communication: You communicate clearly, listen well, and build partnerships that strengthen pillar ownership across operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.Interpersonal effectiveness: You bring emotional intelligence, good judgment, and respect for different perspectives while coaching teams on behavior-based safety and continuous improvement routines.Hands-on leadership: You are visible in the operation, use daily management and structured audits to understand risks, and help teams remove barriers where the work happens.Who you are:You have experience engaging, influencing, and coaching teams through Lean routines, pillar meetings, audits, and shared safety goals.You bring 5–7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to Lean manufacturing, pillar-based systems, or process safety.You have experience with ISO environmental management systems and understand how standards, audits, and corrective actions support disciplined EHS execution.CSP and/or CIH certification is preferred but not required.You understand ergonomic and operational risk reduction and know how to translate observations, assessments, and RCAs into practical improvements.You are a strong communicator who can work effectively with employees, leaders, regulators, and cross-functional partners.You have helped build safety and environmental improvement into daily culture through behavior-based safety, visual management, and standard work.You use data, curiosity, audit findings, and root-cause thinking to identify risks, close gaps, and recommend effective countermeasures.What We Offer: We're proud to offer a comprehensive package for full-time employees, including but not limited to:Recharge Time – Paid vacation, holidays, and sick days.Health & Wellness – Medical, dental, and vision coverage.Future You – 401(k) plan with generous match program to help you save.Peace of Mind – Life insurance, disability, and options for HSAs and FSAs.Everyday Perks – Free coffee, fresh baked goods, and discounts.Growth & Support – Career development and an Employee Assistance Program when you need it.The target annual base salary range for this position is $128,000- $166,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education, certifications or licenses, other legitimate non-discriminatory business factors, and the geographic location of the role.
