High School Health Teacher

Summary Mora High School is seeking a Health Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive health education to students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, and promoting overall wellness. This full-time position requires a commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed health decisions and lead healthy lives. Responsibilities Develop and implement a dynamic health curriculum that aligns with state standards and best practices in health education. Teach various health-related topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health. Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diversity. Organize and facilitate health-related activities, workshops, and events to promote wellness within the school community. Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and community organizations to enhance the health education program and provide resources for students and families. Stay current with advancements in health education and relevant research, integrating new information into the curriculum as appropriate. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and health-related concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about best practices in health education. Requirements Valid teaching license in Health Education . Previous experience teaching health education at the high school level is preferred. Strong knowledge of health topics and current trends in health education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to promoting student well-being and health literacy.
