What You'll Do

• Float across various Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) units and PCU as needed.
• Ensure safety and security within the correctional environment.
• Monitor and manage oncology and non-oncology patients, including those with solid tumors, hematology diagnoses, and other complex conditions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products; manage PICC and central lines.
• Utilize Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation system accurately.
• Support respiratory care, including oxygen delivery and airway management.
• Respond effectively to cardiac and emergency situations, including telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.

What You Need

• Ohio RN license (or eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• Experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system and medication management systems
• Ability to work in a correctional setting with security protocols
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle complex patient needs

About the Assignment

This assignment is based at a secure correctional health unit operated by Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. The unit regularly cares for patients with active oncology diagnoses, requiring specialized knowledge in managing complex medical conditions within a locked correctional environment. Shifts will be scheduled based on unit needs, with rotations between day and night shifts. You will be supported by a team of dedicated healthcare and correctional staff committed to safe and effective care delivery.
