About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP or Tax Manager to join their Tax team, with a specific focus on Alternative RIC (Regulated Investment Company) reporting and compliance. This hands-on role is pivotal within a new and expanding fund structure, offering a unique opportunity for a candidate to gain extensive experience in alternative fund taxation and contribute to the development of the tax function. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end RIC tax reporting and compliance, coordinating with external advisors, and managing a range of tax obligations, including international filings. Essential job functions also include partnership tax basis tracking, tax provisions, and research on RIC rules and emerging tax guidance. Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or taxation, with a CPA or MST being highly desirable. A minimum of 8 to 12 years' of progressive tax experience in asset management, mutual funds, or alternative investments is required, with a strong background in RIC taxation and Subchapter M compliance. The role demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a proactive, process-oriented mindset. Experience with international tax filings and a working knowledge of partnership taxation, including the application of Schedule K-1 information, are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in Big 4 public accounting and be adept at collaborating cross-functionally with various teams.
