We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.Job DescriptionThe Associate Video Producer on the TODAY social team is responsible for editing and publishing short-form video and creating static social content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and emerging platforms.This role focuses on fast turnaround of broadcast clips and original content into clear, platform-optimized vertical video. Responsibilities include editing, packaging, and basic design, working closely with social producers daily. On a weekly cadence, there will be crossover collaborations with broadcast producers and other NBCU brands.Daily content includes a mix of breaking news, celebrity interviews, health, lifestyle, and talent-driven moments. This role requires strong editorial judgment and the ability to work quickly under a deadline.This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA.ResponsibilitiesEdit and publish short-form vertical video across social platformsTake on bulk of editing social content for original series and podcastsClip and reformat broadcast segments in real timeUnderstand the art of editing, framing, captioning, and audioWriting captions and social copyUse Premiere to edit videos; experiment with emerging editing platformsUse Figma and Photoshop to create templates and graphicsDesign thumbnails, overlays, and text treatmentsWork across news, pop culture, lifestyle, health, and talent contentTrack trendsIdentify timely social opportunitiesSource and clear UGC following internal guidelinesCollaborate with social, broadcast, and editorial teamsManage multiple edits on tight deadlinesUse analytics to improve contentEnsure content meets TODAY editorial standardsQualifications2+ years of video editing experience (digital, social, or broadcast)Strong editing skills for vertical and short-form videoProficiency in Adobe Premiere or similar tools (Final Cut, CapCut, Avid)Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and PhotoshopStrong design skills (typography, layout, captions, thumbnails)Understanding of social platform performance and trendsStrong editorial judgment, accuracy, and attention to detailAbility to multitask and meet deadlinesStrong communication and organization skillsAvailable for Sunday–ThursdayPreferred ExperienceDigital newsroom or news broadcast backgroundSome experience converting broadcast to social formatsFamiliarity with TODAY voice and content mixBasic motion graphics, color, and audio editing skillsExperience with breaking news, live events, and fast-turn contentStrong instinct for what performs on socialInterest in emerging platforms and formatsAdditional Requirements:Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in New York a minimum of four days per week.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
