Disaster Recovery Specialist

Job Description

We’re seeking a skilled Disaster Recovery (DR) Program Lead to serve as the central technical and operational driver for our enterprise-wide business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives. You’ll play a key role in ensuring mission-critical applications across Tier 0–3 are protected, recoverable, and tested annually.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on planning, execution, and continuous improvement of recovery strategies across diverse platforms and environments.

Location: Allentown, PA/ Providence RI/ Bowling Green, KY

Job Type: 12 Months Contract with potential to extend upon the business needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead DR assessments and recovery strategy workshops with application owners and technical leads.
\n
• Develop and maintain comprehensive recovery plans, runbooks, test plans, and post-test review reports.
\n
• Coordinate annual DR testing, failover exercises, and readiness validation across on-premises, cloud (Azure), and hybrid environments.
\n
• Analyze application dependencies, RTOs (Recovery Time Objectives), RPOs (Recovery Point Objectives), and recovery requirements.
\n
• Drive remediation of recovery gaps and track progress to closure.
\n
• Support implementation and operation of ServiceNow BCM and CMDB processes.
\n
• Deliver clear, executive-level reporting on DR status, metrics, and program health.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• 6–8 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Infrastructure, or IT Operations.
\n
• Proven experience in DR testing, recovery planning, and recovery governance.
\n
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, cloud platforms (especially Azure), infrastructure, and cybersecurity dependencies.
\n
• Experience with ServiceNow BCM, CMDB, and IT governance frameworks is preferred.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across technical and business teams.
\n
• Must be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
