About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environments. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: BLS, NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Candidates must have supervisory references. Candidates must pass clinical review. Candidates must have relevant high risk experience. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care including assessments. Description: Locals are accepted at the same rate. Perm candidates from non-affiliated facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. Experience working in high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery environments is essential. Functions as a Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Must float to postpartum and antepartum as required. Experience with midwifery clients, private OBs, and adult recovery services is valued. Candidates are expected to follow active patient protocols and adhere to staffing guidelines. Average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month. Candidates must demonstrate strong skills in newborn assessments, support, and care. Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is required. Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams are necessary. Candidates must assist with high risk deliveries, maintain IVs, and administer medications as needed. Previous charge experience is also preferred. Preparation for and participation in special procedures within the unit is necessary. Expect to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Candidates must track compliance with ongoing training and certifications. All applicants must comply with established patient care protocols.
