About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in a high-risk environment is required. Current supervisory references are mandatory. Must have proof of required certifications with submission. License: Active compact nursing license is required. Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) is required. NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) is required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is preferred. AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications are preferred. Must-Have: Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care, including administering eye ointment and Vitamin K injections. Candidates must have experience functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and providing care until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must pass clinical review; no exceptions will be made. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role involves working in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery environment. The nurse will be responsible for assisting with both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Floating to postpartum and antepartum units may be required. Candidates must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring. The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit consists of 31 rooms and 31 beds. Knowledge and experience with high acuity and high pace are essential. Additional responsibilities may include newborn assessments, postpartum hemorrhage management, and supporting breastfeeding. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required. Candidates should be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and collaborate effectively with other healthcare staff. Experience in a community care setting and working with diverse patient populations is valued.
