Description:
The Day Center Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for providing safe delivery of personal care services to participants.
The PCA is responsible for supporting various departments as needed, once provided appropriate training.
Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote team culture and mission.
Provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to participants.
Responsibilities include escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, assisting with meals, and laundry.
Measuring and documenting participants' vital signs as instructed is required.
Assisting participants with boarding and exiting from transportation vehicles and acting as a medical escort when instructed.
Observing activity to ensure participant safety is crucial.
Assists with meal service, ensuring participants receive correct meals and providing support with feeding when indicated.
Assists participants with safe transfer in and out of their homes and acts as a medical escort on vehicles and to medical appointments as assigned.
Maintains personal care supplies such as incontinence supplies and personal grooming items.
Assists engagement teams with participant activities and home care teams as needed.
Cleans participant areas in the day center between meals and activities.
Remains alert and updates the supervisor or any member of the team promptly of any changes in participants' conditions.
Must be legally authorized to perform in position location.
Only acts within the scope of their authority to perform.
Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings and weekends is necessary.
Completing all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner is essential.
Protecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality of all company procedures and information is required.
Follows policies and procedures and participates in any required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings.
Communicates regularly with a supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities.
Timely completion of all mandated training and education is expected.
Exercises flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve.
Other duties as assigned.
