Lead Ceiling Fan Controls Engineer

Salary: $80,800.08 - 155,200.08 per year Requirements:

• We prefer a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• We look for 5+ years of consumer product development experience, including 3+ years focused on ceiling fans or comparable motorized electrical products and control systems.
• We need strong expertise in electrical control systems such as TRIAC, PWM, and vector control, along with wireless technologies including RF, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
• We value experience with AC, DC, and BLDC motor technologies.
• We expect knowledge of safety and efficiency requirements such as UL/ETL, Energy Star, DOE, and JA8/Title 24.
• We seek advanced understanding of power electronics, circuit design, and embedded motor control systems.
• We want proven supplier management and manufacturing experience, particularly with partners in Asia.
• We require proficiency in LED systems, including driver integration, dimming, and thermal management.
• We look for advanced capability with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Autodesk, or Creo, as well as BOM management.
• We value familiarity with CFD and airflow simulation tools.
• We prefer knowledge of IoT integration and voice-assistant platforms such as Matter, Alexa, and Google Home.
• We are looking for strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• We prefer a passion for innovation and awareness of smart home technology trends.

• We lead the design and development of ceiling fan performance and control systems for residential and light commercial use.
• We integrate AC/DC/BLDC motor technologies, motor controls, LED lighting, RF controls, and smart home connectivity such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Alexa, and Google Home.
• We evaluate airflow, noise, and energy-efficiency performance and define product requirements to meet standards and compliance targets.
• We create and review electrical PCB layouts, 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
• We direct prototype builds with external suppliers and coordinate lab and field testing in domestic and international locations.
• We perform root-cause analysis to confirm performance and resolve technical issues.
• We collaborate with design, sourcing, compliance, and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability, cost efficiency, and product feasibility.
• We work with overseas suppliers to ensure specifications, quality, and execution are clearly defined and measurable.
• We drive initiatives that improve energy efficiency, reduce cost, and support next-generation technology integration.
• We provide executive-level status updates on progress and risks.
• We mentor junior engineers.
• We support installation, warranty matters, and field troubleshooting in partnership with Customer Service, Sales, and Product Assurance.
