About the Position

Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Western North Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; scheduling based on departmental needs with flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

Highlights:

• Work in a 101-bed Emergency Department at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center serving over 100,000 annual visits
• Typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
• State-of-the-art equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors with Cerner documentation system
• Collaborative environment with dedicated techs, unit clerks, and comprehensive support staff across day and night shifts
• Work in a facility recognized nationally for clinical excellence, patient safety, and nursing excellence
• Serve a diverse, multi-cultural community representing over 120 languages

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina RN license or ability to obtain
• Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to rotate through all sections within the Emergency Department
