About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Bone Marrow Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Chemo Certification Must-Have: Must have oncology experience Description: Candidates must have oncology experience and chemotherapy certification. ACLS and chemotherapy certification are required to start. The unit consists of a total of 40 beds, with 20 beds on each floor. Patient ratios are estimated to be dependent on staffing ability, targeting 1:3 and stretching to 1:4. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. There are bedside monitors mounted on walls and bedside computers available for use. Lift assist devices are also available. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires rotation on weekends. Travelers float first as per floating policy. The team implements bedside shift report, safety rounds, and manages team-up without a pass zone. BMT experience is preferred. Ability to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips is preferred. Candidates must be competent to administer chemotherapy. Infrequent bone marrow biopsies are performed on the unit. Dress code requires royal blue scrubs. The unit is recognized for outstanding teamwork and is welcoming to float and contract employees. The team has received five-time accreditation. They perform autologous and allogeneic transplants, including related, unrelated, haplo-match, and mismatch donors. CAR-T therapies are also conducted in this unit.
