Provides specialized post-anesthesia care to stabilize and monitor patients emerging from anesthesia. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and appropriate recovery progression through skilled nursing interventions and assessment. Responsibilities:
- Continuously assess patients' respiratory and cardiac status during recovery from anesthesia.
- Implement physician orders promptly while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with transfers and alarms as needed.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness, contributing to updates or revisions in the care plan collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- Document all care activities, medication administrations, and patient responses accurately and timely.
- Follow up on medication changes and clarify physician/provider orders as necessary.
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience is required.
- Valid Michigan license with active status, verified via LARA or Nursys.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proven skills in post-anesthesia care, including medication administration, patient assessments, and emergency response.
- Strong ability to follow detailed physician orders and update care plans accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
