Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department \n Discipline: RN \n Start Date: 09/28/2026 \n Duration: 13 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, nights \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n \n Title: RN- ED \n Location: West Allis WI Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift (36) Shift Information: 0.9 1900-0730 Clinical Interviewing- Yes On Call, Call Back Requirements: No on call or call back Weekend Rotation: Every other Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday requirement Floating Requirements : No\n About Facility \n \n Level IV Trauma Center \n Level III NICU \n Primary Stroke Center \n Hospital Beds: 277 \n \n General Information \n \n Beds: 20; 8 Overflow, 4 CA Chairs \n Avg patients/day: 100-160 \n Will you accept a traveler with 1 year experience: \n \n RN: 2-5 yrs nursing experience, must have 1 yr ED experience within past year \n ED Tech: 1 yr ED experience \n Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, with 3 years ED experience\n Patient Types: \n \n Neonates to Geriatric \n 5%-8% pediatrics \n Chest pain, dizziness, syncope, strokes, sepsis, ortho, resp distress/failure, STEMI, COVID \n Behavioral Health-Med Clearance \n \n Patient Ratios: \n \n RN: 1:3-4 Days, 1:3-4 Nights \n ED Tech: 2-4 Techs/Shift, 1 Tech 0300-0700 \n \n Required Certifications: \n \n RN: Required- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; (TNCC preferred) \n ED Tech: Required- BLS \n \n Skills required \n \n RN: General ED Skills, Strong IV Skills, Cardiac rhythm interpretation/monitoring, foley placement/management, NGT placement/management, knowledgeable in STEMI/CVA/Sepsis treatments, medication titration \n ED Tech: Strong phlebotomy skills (required), splinting (ortho glass), perform EKGs, CS, POC testing, assist with collection specimens (stool, urine), placing patients on tele monitor, assist in turning patients (ED boarding) \n \n Support on the Unit: \n \n Receptionist/HUC: 24/7 \n Charge nurse: will take a patient assignment as needed, will cover low acuity patients \n ED Educator: (M-F) \n Phlebotomy: assist with peripheral blood draws as needed \n Resource Nurse: Flow Nurse- during peak hours \n RT: 24/7 \n Hospitalist/PA: 24/7 \n Telemetry monitoring: Bedside and at the nurses station, no tele tech \n Sitter/transporter on PMs and NOCS- to be added \n Clinical operations technician- to be added \n \n Technology/Equipment: \n \n EMR: EPIC (required within the last 2 years) \n IV pumps: Alaris \n Medication dispensing: Pyxis \n Monitors: \n \n Floating: If yes, where: \n \n RN: \n \n Based on facility needs \n Will not take patient assignment \n Will work as helping hands, taskers, sitters, runners \n Travelers float first \n \n ED Tech: \n \n Based on Facility Needs \n To units as taskers, sitters \n \n Orientation: (facility and unit)\n \n 1 Shift of Orientation \n First couple hours meet with NM, Supervisor for NEO onboarding, remainder of shift on the unit with preceptor \n \n Scheduling: \n Weekend rotation: every other weekend \n \n On call: If so, what is that schedule: No \n Holiday Expectations: 1 \n Approval of time off: Email NM Holly Burkette and/or Lea Jopke ED Supervisor \n Shift times: \n \n Nights \n 1900-0700 \n 1900-0700 (ED Tech Only) \n \n Schedule cycle: 6 week schedule, receive 1-2 weeks in advance \n \n Other notes: \n \n Scrub Color: Any color, professional (no camo, denim, or hoodies) \n Free Parking: Free, East parking structure on the 3 rd floor or higher \n ERRN1\n \n TalentBurst, Inc Job ID 26-29102.
