After Effects 2D Animator / Motion Designer (Junior/Mid Level)

Laundry, a world class full-service creative company, is seeking a talented and passionate full-time junior to mid After Effects 2D Animator / Motion Designer to join our growing team. We are dedicated to delivering captivating visual experiences through innovative and compelling 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, design and live action. As an After Effects Artist at Laundry, you’ll work alongside our Creative Directors, designers and animation team to bring a wide range of creative projects to life. We’re looking for a junior-to-mid-level artist with strong After Effects skills, a great eye for design and animation, and an enthusiasm for learning, collaborating and continuing to grow their craft. Key Responsibilities: Create high-quality 2D animation and motion graphics across commercial, branded and entertainment projects. Work closely with Creative Directors, designers and other artists to execute creative concepts and bring storyboards and styleframes to life. Animate typography, graphic elements, illustrations, logos and other design assets with a strong understanding of timing, composition and movement. Take creative direction and feedback and translate it effectively into polished animation. Collaborate with the wider creative and production teams to deliver work within project schedules and deadlines. Participate in internal reviews and regroups, sharing work in progress and incorporating feedback. Maintain organized After Effects projects and follow established studio workflows and best practices. Stay curious about new animation techniques, tools, AI and emerging creative technologies. Qualifications: 1-4 years of professional experience in motion design, animation or a related creative field. Strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, with proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop. A portfolio or reel demonstrating a strong foundation in 2D animation, motion graphics and design. A solid understanding of animation principles, timing, composition, typography and visual storytelling. Experience working within a motion design, animation, VFX or similarly fast-paced creative studio environment is highly preferred. Ability to interpret storyboards and styleframes and translate them into engaging animation. Comfortable receiving direction and feedback while also bringing ideas and creative problem-solving to the table. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. A collaborative, positive attitude and enthusiasm for working as part of a creative team. An eagerness to learn, develop new skills and continue growing as an artist. Knowledge of additional tools, including Cinema 4D, is a plus but not required.
