Buyer Level 1

Market America | SHOP.COM, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking a Level 1 Buyer. The role will manage inventory levels, vendor communications, and place orders involving raw and finished goods. Good understanding and ability with Safety Stock, BOM’s and Excel / V Look-ups needed.

Position Summary:

The Level 1 Buyer places orders for finished and raw materials.  Maintains proper inventory levels and successful vendor relationships.  This role will work with Receiving, Inventory Control, Accounting, Quality Control, and Vendors. The Level ! Buyer must have ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This role will build, maintain, and evaluate supplier relationships.
• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy.
• Purchase finished products, supplies and services at the lowest possible cost consistent with accepted standard of quality and service within established time frames.
• Coordinate return of rejected, unsuitable, or damaged RMAs and overstock/over shipped RMAs.
• Maintains awareness of current market conditions, new products, and supply sources to support the business and the independent business owners for Market America, Inc.
• Complies with company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in a business-related field preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of Commodity Purchasing Experience preferred

Computer/Communication Skills:

• Proficient use of MS Office programs:  Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Above moderate level of proficiency in MS Excel
• High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted strategic projects in conjunction with day-to-day tactical activities.
• Ability to get along and work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible.
• Above moderate to high levels in reading comprehension, writing, and speaking in English; active listening; attention to detail; critical thinking; mathematics, creative problem solving; complex problem solving; and judgment.

Travel:

• Annual conference participation and related travel.
