Fabricator II: Precision Parts & Project Lead

Job Overview A Fabricator II for Bastian Solutions is responsible for the operation of machinery used to produce parts for material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is operating one or more machines including, but not limited to, Band Saw, Table Saw, Miter Saw, Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, Ironworker, Drill Press, and various grinders. Other duties include general repair and maintenance of Bastian Solutions’ equipment. Job Overview A Fabricator II for Bastian Solutions is responsible for the operation of machinery used to produce parts for material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is operating one or more machines including, but not limited to, Band Saw, Table Saw, Miter Saw, Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, Ironworker, Drill Press, and various grinders. Other duties include general repair and maintenance of Bastian Solutions’ equipment. A Fabricator II is responsible for maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified on individual prints and for ensuring parts meet required quality standards. This role demonstrates advanced technical skill, the ability to identify root causes of quality issues, and the capability to estimate and meet production timelines. A Fabricator II will have 2-4 years of experience operating machinery at Bastian Solutions or applicable experience and is expected to carry out the essential functions of a Fabricator I with little to no guidance. Job Functions Perform all duties of Fabricator I with little to no guidance, demonstrating ownership of quality and output. Conduct in-depth quality checks on parts produced to ensure compliance with prints and tolerances. Establish root cause for any quality issue and participate in corrective actions. Operate all equipment in the Fabrication Department safely and effectively. Demonstrate high technical skill on primary assigned equipment. Meet all provided time estimates and expectations for completion of parts and projects. Make accurate time estimates for fabrication parts and operations. Demonstrate the ability to lead small projects from layout through completion. Work from sketches and drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate, and bar stock independently. Build high-quality fabricated parts from blueprints with low rejection rate. Maintain work space in a neat and organized manner. Show mutual respect for coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; overtime required when necessary. Follow all safety protocols per JSA. Demonstrate willingness to learn new areas of manufacturing and new equipment. Other duties may be assigned. Travel Requirements This job does not require travel. Required Qualifications And Preferred Skills 2-4 years of machinery operation experience at Bastian Solutions or equivalent Ability to operate Band Saw, Table Saw, Miter Saw, Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, Ironworker, Drill Press, and grinders Strong ability to read and interpret engineering prints Proven capability to hold required tolerances and dimensions Experience performing quality inspections and identifying root cause Ability to estimate job times accurately Relevant fabrication shop experience Positive attitude and ability to handle tense situations Team player able to take direction and provide guidance General knowledge of fabrication equipment and processes Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
