Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU - Nights

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) located in the ICU/PCU, primarily working night shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience in all nursing areas and a willingness to float to Med/Surg as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and significant others' needs for patient education and provide information using appropriate education modalities.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures such as side rails and restraints, following restraint policies correctly.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Utilize standard precautions at all times.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during the assigned shift.
• Give change of shift report to oncoming personnel completely and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians timely.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Washington State RN license.
• Experience in ICU, PCU, and Med/Surg settings.
