Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical‑Surgical Location: Springfield, IL | Agency: Prime Staffing | Pay: $2,160 per week | Shift: Days – 5 days x 13 hours | Contract Duration: 14 Weeks | Start Date: 7/20/2026 About the Position Prime Staffing is seeking a qualified Medical‑Surgical RN to support a large acute‑care hospital in Springfield, IL. The candidate will perform patient care, assist with procedures, and provide supportive care for an average census of 21 patients. Shift and Schedule Days: 5 days × 13 hours (standard day shifts) Nights: 3 × 12 hours, 18:30 – 07:15 (night shift option) Require working every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays if on-call is not applicable. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Administer intravenous therapy, blood products, and peripheral lines, as well as PICC line management. Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and management of enteral feeding tubes. Utilize isolation precautions and personal protective equipment. Participate in rapid response and code teams when required. Document patient status and care plans in Cerner electronic medical record. Required Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, actively held or in application (estimated to be active). Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical‑Surgical RN. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience with blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and weaning (e.g., heparin drip, Lasix). Familiarity with Cerner charting system. Ability to float within the hospital and meet departmental needs. Preferred Skills Colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, use of rapid response/remote telemetry, PCA, nasal cannula, wound vacuum. Experience in trauma or LTAC settings is an advantage. Benefits & Requirements Contract duration 14 weeks with possibility of additional assignments. Guaranteed hours per week: client may call‑off up to 36 hours per thirteen‑week assignment without penalty; additional cancellation beyond this will be invoiced.
