We’re hiring a Hazmat Driver to load, transport, and deliver products, including sulfuric acid and ammonium nitrate products in pneumatic and tanker trailers to various mines and aggregate sites throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Less experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require an extended training period. ~ Authorized access to mine site properties ~ Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years ~ CDL driver must be qualified to operate a combination vehicle as a driver in compliance with FMCSA Strong understanding of DOT regulations and hazmat transportation procedures Ability to operate a manual 10-speed configuration preferred but not required Must be able to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy Understand and comply with organizational policies and procedures and all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations occasionally staying overnight with short notice Proficient in performing tasks in rapid succession, handling stressful situations, making quick decisions, and reacting The ability to sit, drive,shift gearsand stay awake for long periods of time Drivers are responsible for completing thorough pre-and post-trip inspections. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) requirements: PPE is required and must be worn in accordance with company policy and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each work site. Respirator Mask (varies according to the work site) Acid operations are outside in the elements and require a chemical-resistant acid suit, rubber gloves, rubber boots, a full-face respirator, and any other required PPE to be worn at all times while in a Hot Zone. Respirators (PPE) are distributed by CTI and are used to protect employees from those occupational hazards caused by breathing contaminated air (harmful dust, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, or vapors).
