Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Projected Start: September 21, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery unit with 2 triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, and 2 ORs, maintaining patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1 depending on acuity
• Proficiently start IVs, draw labs, perform vaginal exams, and interpret fetal monitoring strips
• Serve as an OB circulator and support procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placement
• Operate unit equipment including fetal monitors, IUPC, FSE, fluid warmers, IV pumps, and epidural pumps; document using CPN and Meditech EMR systems
• Rotate every other weekend and participate in possible circulator call as needed
• Float to postpartum as part of cross-coverage within the closed unit structure

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure eligible for practice in Louisiana
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, lab draws, vaginal exams, fetal strip interpretation, and OB circulator duties

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Ability to scrub for cesarean sections
• Type A personality with strong organizational skills and excellent time management
• Empathic, caring, and compassionate bedside manner suited for a high-acuity OB environment
