Production Supervisor

Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) – East Granby is one of six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies in North America. The Production Supervisor is responsible for employee safety, supervising production/operational work centers, ensuring compliance with daily planning, manufacturing and shipment schedules, and maintaining standards of quality, specifications, costs, productivity and safety. Shift Details 3PM – 11PM Essential Duties Safety : Identify unsafe conditions, eliminate safety hazards, conduct incident investigations, submit incident reports, and review them with the Director of Operations for corrective action. Coach, encourage, and monitor employees for compliance with safety rules and practices. Staffing/Training : Staff each work center based on workload, assign personnel, recommend staffing changes to the Director of Operations, train and cross‑train operators, and participate in committees focused on OSR/scrap reduction, material usage, and safety. Scheduling : Measure achieved schedule versus planned schedule by work center, coordinate with the Planning supervisor to ensure realistic schedules. Scrap Management : Require accurate scrap reporting, implement corrective action to reduce scrap, analyze OSRs by work center, and collaborate with operators, engineers, and maintenance to correct equipment or process problems. Productivity : Review operator performance regularly, ensure productivity levels are met, and use coaching, collaboration, and training for job development. Work‑Center Organization : Organize centers for maximum efficiency, hold team meetings to brainstorm solutions, provide required tools and resources, maintain housekeeping disciplines, reduce material handling, and develop methods to increase staging efficiency. Measurement & Capacity : Achieve at least 70% earned labor efficiency, reduce indirect labor through improved material handling, and ensure capacity meets or exceeds actual demand. Cost Reduction : Eliminate downtime via efficient set‑ups, material availability, staging, and preventive maintenance scheduling. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet changing business demands. Knowledge and Skills Required 3–5years manufacturing supervisory experience (direct wire and cable experience preferred). Strong mechanical and process aptitude with working knowledge of wire/cable machinery. 2–4year degree in engineering or manufacturing technology preferred; significant relevant work experience is acceptable. Strong conceptual, analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Team‑player who develops teamwork within supervised areas.
