About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in CVICU License: Valid state nursing license preferred; must apply if not held Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: PA catheter interpretation and analysis skills required Open heart recovery experience strongly preferred Experience with LVAD/RVAD/Impella and IABP required Familiarity with CRRT, ECMO, and ventilators preferred Description: This position involves working in a critical care environment specializing in cardiovascular patients. Registered nurses will care for patients post-cardiac surgery and those who require advanced cardiac interventions. Nurses will be expected to float within the ICU community to meet facility needs. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams are essential for patient care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, ensuring effective supervision and monitoring. Every other weekend work is required, and shifts are 12 hours long. Candidates should have experience with hemodynamic monitoring and various critical care protocols. Flexibility with patient care duties and willingness to adapt to unit needs is important. Candidates must possess skills in advanced life support and management of complex patient populations. This role requires critical thinking, quick decision-making, and effective communication skills. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols is essential in this position.
