Summary of Job Duties:

The Access Coordinator III position works under supervision to function as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions. They also facilitate comprehensive patient data collections, timely and accurate billing, prompt collections of payment for services rendered, facilitates scheduling coordination and conflicts. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level, and perform other duties to support the patient care activities as needed. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: High School, GED, or formal education equivalent Three year's experience in registration or scheduling in a healthcare environment Good communication skills, computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners Excellent customer service skills Knowledge in basic medical terminology required Preferred Qualifications: CHAA Certification

Additional Information: Additional Information: $17.72 hourly rate and work shift 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., with occasional coverage of 5:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Job Requirements: Coordinate and perform complex patient registration, scheduling, and access functions. Schedule hospital procedures, clinic appointments, diagnostic services, and other patient services. Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorization requirements. Obtain and accurately document required patient and financial information. Review referrals and orders to ensure appropriate documentation and scheduling requirements are met. Resolve complex scheduling, registration, insurance, and patient access issues. Serve as an escalation resource for Access Coordinators and other front-end staff. Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration requirements, insurance, and hospital services. Communicate with physicians, nurses, clinical departments, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient services. Identify discrepancies or missing information and take appropriate steps to correct them. Ensure accurate data entry into electronic medical records and scheduling/registration systems. Assist with pre-registration and financial clearance activities when applicable. Follow hospital policies, HIPAA requirements, payer guidelines, and regulatory standards. Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient information. Monitor work queues and prioritize time-sensitive patient requests.
