Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | Onsite | Includes approximately 8–10 call shifts per month, inclusive of 1–2 weekends per month

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in both the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Interventional Radiology Lab, supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Assist with cardiac procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), cardiac stent placement, angioplasty, IABP placement/removal, and Impella insertion
• Support interventional radiology procedures including drain and tube placements, biopsies, embolizations, nephrostomy, angiography, and vascular interventions
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation; manage antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licensure not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting (IR-only experience does not meet this requirement)
• Experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab environments is required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and endovascular interventions
• Familiarity with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG
• Experience with central venous access, port placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, and stent graft placement
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; unit accepts first-time travelers
