Job Title: Sanitation Worker – Food Manufacturing

Position Summary:
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe production environment in compliance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and OSHA regulations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment, production areas, and facility grounds are properly cleaned and sanitized to support food safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, utensils, and work areas according to established procedures.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and inspection.
• Perform daily cleaning of floors, walls, drains, restrooms, break rooms, and other facility areas.
• Properly use and handle sanitation chemicals following safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
• Remove waste, debris, and recyclable materials from production areas.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment and production areas meet sanitation standards.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain accurate sanitation logs and cleaning records.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or food safety concerns to management immediately.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and production support activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous sanitation or cleaning experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and sanitation procedures preferred.
• Ability to work in wet, cold, hot, and noisy environments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and production equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and work extended periods on feet.

Safety Requirements:

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Attend required safety and food safety training.
• Immediately report all injuries, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
