Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Recruiting for a technology and industrial automation manufacturer in Fremont, California.

Position Overview

This position coordinates daily shipping and receiving activities in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The clerk receives, verifies, documents, stores, stages, and distributes parts, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory and shipment records.

Key Responsibilities

·    Receive, inspect, count, weigh, and verify incoming parts, materials, supplies, and equipment.

·    Compare incoming and outgoing shipments with purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, work orders, and related records.

·    Prepare shipments by packaging, labeling, weighing, documenting, and staging materials for transportation.

·    Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently for deliveries, pickups, and shipments.

·    Enter accurate receiving, inventory, returned-goods, and shipment information into company systems.

·    Distribute materials to designated warehouse areas and internal departments.

·    Report shortages, damage, discrepancies, and receiving issues promptly.

·    Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment after required authorization and training.

·    Perform pre-use inspections of forklifts and company vehicles and report safety or maintenance concerns.

·    Deliver materials or documents to vendors, customers, and other company locations as needed.

·    Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping, receiving, dock, and warehouse areas.

·    Support continuous improvement in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.

Required Qualifications

·    High school diploma or equivalent.

·    Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

·    Ability to accurately receive, count, weigh, identify, and document materials.

·    Ability to read purchase orders, bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, and shipping documents.

·    Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and shipping systems.

·    Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.

·    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

·    Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping and receiving, or materials operations.

·    Forklift and material-handling experience.

·    Experience with computerized inventory, shipping, or receiving systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical and Work Requirements

The position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and safely operate warehouse and office equipment. Work may involve moving equipment, forklifts, loading and unloading, varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Required PPE and safety procedures must be followed.
