Patient Care Technician - PCT

Role Overview

Provides safe, effective dialysis therapy under supervision, assisting with machine setup, patient evaluation, and treatment monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Supports patient education on dialysis adequacy and disease management, evaluates vascular access, administers treatment, and monitors patient response. Performs vital signs, documentation, and machine safety checks. Assists in infection control, supplies management, and laboratory specimen collection. Participates in quality improvement activities and supports transitional care for new patients, including education and coordination of treatment options.

Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent, state/national certification, and relevant licensure. Prior patient care experience preferred; training provided. Must demonstrate commitment to organization values and customer service. Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., perform patient transfers, and stand/prolonged periods.

Additional Requirements

Compliance with infection control policies, accurate record-keeping, and participation in CQI activities. Ability to work in a health care environment with moderate noise and infection risks. Reliable with flexible availability within scheduled days.
