Staff Accountant

Overview Nienhuis Financial Group is a rapidly growing accounting firm committed to delivering excellence in fractional and managerial accounting services. Our client base includes small businesses with revenues of $1 M to $75M, including manufacturing, service, and non-profit. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee various aspects of accounting operations and ensure financial compliance for our clients. Day travel to Grandville and Kalamazoo areas may be required to meet client needs. Responsibilities For NFG clients, using generally accepted accounting principles to: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Maintain the general ledger. Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books. Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks. Reconcile customer accounts. Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audits. File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Depending on client needs, assist or complete the following: payroll, manage fixed assets, prepare and/or adjust trial balances, and conduct comps and review. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. 3-5 years of accounting experience required. 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable. 2 years’ Payroll experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
